TOP CHEF MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL-STYLE

Alicia Hinze from The Buttered Tin and I spent the day watching the future of Minnesota’s culinary industry. I wish I had ProStart when I was in high school - kids get the chance to be mentored by a local chef or culinary professional, a teacher runs the program, and kids learn to cook. They also learn to menu plan and cost things out. But more importantly, they learn team work, perseverance, and have a chance to find their own people.

Sauk Rapids-Rice High School

ProStart’s State Invitational is as cool as the high school basketball or track and field competitions. These are kids who have spent countless hours practicing and refining and doing their best.

Alicia describes herself as bitter, I describe myself as salty

Sauk-Rapids Rice High School, Elk River, Shakopee, Monticello, Rogers, Hopkins, Zimmerman, Protctor, Becker, Anoka, Cambridge-Isanti - just an awesome group of schools who made it to the state competition.
